Cancellation of all 2020 Courses

A Thuismitheoirí, a chairde,

The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht have confirmed that Irish summer courses will not be going ahead this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This decision, while a huge disappointment to all at Coláiste Chonnacht, was made in the interest of everyone’s health and safety. We know that our prospective students will be very disappointed by the news. Your options regarding your 2020 booking are as follows:

Defer your booking to 2021

Parents may wish to defer their booking and deposit to one of our courses in 2021. As we are likely to open bookings for 2021 in the coming weeks, deferring your booking will allow you to secure your place in advance of general sales. If you would like to avail of this option please let us know by email of the preferred course by Monday 27th April. The provisional dates for 2021* are as follows:

  • Cúrsa A: 6th June – 27th June ( 3 week course, 1st Years and 2nd Year students)
  • Cúrsa B: 30th June – 21st July ( 3 week course, 5th class primary – 5th year)
  • Cúrsa C: 25th July – 8th August ( 2 week course, 5th class primary – 5th year)

*Please note, these dates are provisional and may be subject to change.

Refund of fees

The refund of fees will take time to administer and we ask for your patience in this regard. There is no need to request a refund. If you are not availing of the option to defer your booking to 2021, as outlined above, we will be processing a refund of all fees paid to date.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to book with Coláiste Chonnacht this year. It will be first time in 110 years that courses will not be held on our campus at An Spidéal. No doubt this will have a significant impact on our business and within the wider community. However, these truly are unprecedented times and the most important thing we can do is stay safe and adhere to the public health measures in place.

As the seanfhocal says “Beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach”  – we will see each other again another day!

Le meas,
